The 2nd National Youth Track and Field Games of the People's Republic of China was held from August 23 to 27 at the Kuishan Sports Center in Rizhao, Shandong. Nearly 1,400 athletes from 34 teams across the country took part.

The track and field competition in the competitive sports division of the 17th Guangdong Provincial Games was held from August 10 to 15 at the Maoming Olympic Sports Center Stadium, Guangdong.

The track and field competitions of the 17th Yunnan Provincial Games (Youth and University Divisions) were held from August 6 to 15 at the Kunming Sports Center, bringing together more than 1,720 athletes from across the province.

The track and field events of the 16th Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Games (Stadium Events) were held from August 11 to 15 on the athletics track of the Baotou Olympic Sports Center.

The Shandong Youth Track and Field Club League (Leg 2) was held from August 12 to 14 on the athletics track of Shandong First Medical University in Daiyue District, Tai'an, Shandong. More than 2,000 athletes from 131 clubs across the province took part.

The track and field competition of the 26th Shandong Provincial Games was held from July 30 to August 4 at the Linyi Olympic Sports Park Stadium. More than 870 athletes from 16 delegations across the province took part.
